In 2017, the owners wanted to open a contemporary souvenir shop in the island of Rhodes, Greece. A shop that meant to differentiate from the other souvenir shops on the island. It focuses to create unique, limited edition souvenirs.
So oh deer came to life, the name was chosen, for it was playful as a funny mishap, and contained the deer, a significant species that is the signature animal of the island fauna.
Combined with the url ending in the logo, it connects directly with the company website.
With "creating holiday memories", an emotional connection with the travellers is created. And stated that visiting the island is not just a vacation, but an experience.
The colour palette chosen for the overall identity and interior, consists mainly of pastels, derived from the island surroundings, and is combined with dark blue, a colour that represents everything Greek.
Gold and marble were also used as complementary materials. Gold, because the shop was a former jewellery workshop, belonging to the owners family, and marble for it is a reminder of Ancient Greece.
The facade and main display, were painted teal, in order to differentiate the shop, but also to respect the homogenous architecture of Rhodes old town.
An old scale used to weight gold, from the time the shop was a jewellers workshop, is the main element of decoration.
Led strips and neon lights were used to create ambience, give a sense of depth, and to highlight interior elements.
The shop's philosophy is eco conscious, promoting the use of sustainable materials in its products, to comply with this, all promotional and supportive material is printed on Munken FSC, paper.
An e-shop was also created, for the customers to preorder their souvenirs or order during the winter months, that the physical store is closed.
Accompanied with a social media presence. All online content was later meant to be self managed by the clients, so the campaigns and features, were as simple as possible, to accommodate this need.
